Jetting® Screw

Mar 12, 2019

A professional multi-purposed wood screw is one of the most common pieces of consumable hardware. We use them by the handful on a daily basis for all manner of jobs to assemble furniture, build shelves, make face frames and more. In 1996, Multiform Fasteners Co., Ltd. unveiled the first design-pioneered product, Jetting® Screw, which was highly praised and appreciated by the market. Maybe the anticipation of the designer, Mr. Hsu, on this product could be seen from the denomination of the product, Jetting, which interprets the assembling works can be accelerated and work-saving conspicuously like a jet flight.

From then on, the prospering response was the foundation for the growing success of Multiform Fasteners Co., Ltd. Jetting® Screw is the premium wood screw that can make strong woodworking joints, preferred by many pro carpenters for their reliability and by DIY’ers for their ease of use. The highly reputed product incorporates the multiple cutting spirals underneath the outer periphery of screw thread constructing a strong milling force on the fiber-like structure. They are available in a large dimension and longer lengths suitable for their intended use. These screws are made from high quality carbon alloyed steel or stainless steel as requested.

The double flat countersunk with a correctly formed recess increasing the size of head where it meets the body of the screw make these screws much stronger. This minimises the risk of the head shearing under the applied tightening torque. Six ribs on the underside of the head help the screw self countersink and lessen the torque required for a clean flush finish. The symbolic rifled shank with type 17 cutting cuts the workpiece immedieatly as it slices efforlessly through the timber without tearing the fibers making for a much stronger fixing, and the threads engage under lesser friction resistance. This premier ingenuity of these auxilary threads shredding and stirring the fiber fragments exempts the object from splitting attributed to accumulation of internal stress, and chopping chips out of the contacted interface. After plating, the screws undergo a further lubricant to reduce friction. Lower friction needs less power, meaning more screws are driven on a single battery charge.

The pressure treated wood containing proprietary anti-corrrosion technologies matched for alkaline copper quat (ACQ) or copper azole (CA-B) are used massively for outdoor application. For even greater corrosion protection, the Jetting® Screws have a proprietary coating, Multi-Shield Coating System, which has several advantages making it an ideal choice in this application. First, this passes the salt spray test of 500 to 2000 hours, which far exceeds the resistance of common zinc plated screws and can be used for the outdoor applications of chemical treated lumber products.  Secondly, the screws can come in colors that help the fastener blend with natural and pressure-treated wood tones. Also, the multiple epoxy coatings increase corrosion resistance. Nevertheless, these durable coating has the potential to wear through and expose the underlying steel to corrosion. This wear typically happens when you drive the screws into hard material. Some low-cost coated screws lose part of the coating covering their threads after one drive through dimensional pressure-treated lumber.

Multiform Fasteners Co., Ltd. has invented this intelligent product since 1996 with global patent protection and has processed several improvements on its existing features to elevate great benefits realized by existing customers as wel as expanded to a sound patent family. During the 25 years time-span, we have collected practical users‘ feedback and massive information in our database, whether by means of the direct result from the market or in-house experiments the ultimate object is to maximize the positivity, performance and capability of the Jetting® Screw.
